It pays particular attention to Coxhead's (2000) Academic Word List (AWL). In Competency Framework for Teachers of English for Academic Purposes, the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) state that, "The teaching of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) has expanded with the increasing use of English for study, teaching and research in further and higher education institutions worldwide."
